Terms of Service

Last updated: June 11, 2026

These terms govern your use of Jean-Claude (the "Service"), the managed VM service available at this website and through the jclaude CLI, operated by Anybase ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Jean-Claude provides virtual machines preconfigured to run Claude Code in Remote Control mode. Using Claude on your VM requires your own claude.ai subscription from Anthropic, under Anthropic's own terms. We are not affiliated with Anthropic and we do not resell or provide access to Claude itself; we provide the machines it runs on.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information, be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live), and keep your credentials and SSH keys secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account, including activity carried out by AI agents you run on your VMs. An agent acting on your behalf is, for the purposes of these terms, you.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

We may throttle, suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, immediately and without notice where the violation is serious.

4. Your content

Everything you put on your VM stays yours. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, store, back up and transmit it, solely to operate the Service. You are responsible for what you store and for keeping copies of anything important: snapshots are a convenience, not a guaranteed backup service.

5. Billing

6. Third-party services

The Service runs on third-party infrastructure providers and depends on them. We are not responsible for failures of third-party services, including Anthropic's, though we will always do our best to keep the splits holding.

7. Termination

You can stop at any time: destroy your VMs, cancel your subscription, or delete your account. We may terminate or suspend your access immediately for breach of these terms, or for any reason with reasonable notice. After termination we may delete your VMs, snapshots and data; see the Privacy Policy for retention details.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR ERROR-FREE.

AI agents are powerful and imperfect. They can run commands, write code, delete files and reach the internet. You are responsible for reviewing what your agents do and for the credentials and permissions you give them. We are not liable for actions taken by agents running on your VMs.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) 50 EUROS.

10. Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will notify you by email or in the dashboard before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept them.

12. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by French law, and disputes go to the courts of Paris, France, unless mandatory consumer law says otherwise. Questions: bonjour@jeanclaude.sh.
